The delegation of the Central Committee’s Economic Commission working with VINASME

Leaders of departments and units joined the delegation of the Central Economic Committee.
 
Welcoming the delegation, the VINASME have comrades: To Hoai Nam - Vice Chairman Cum General Secretary; Nguyen Van Tu – Chief of the Office; Pham Ngoc Long - Director of the Managerial Sciences Institute Small and Medium Enterprises; Le Anh Van - Director of Legal Support Centre and the development of human resources.
 
At the meeting, representatives of the VINASME gave a brief report on the activities of the SME sector in recent years.
 
Accordingly, Vietnam now has over 543,963 enterprises (companies), with around 6 million billion ($ 30 billion provisional). Of these, nearly 97% of small and medium, mostly private enterprises. 51% of SMEs use social workers and contributes to over 40% of GDP. If including 133,000 cooperatives, farms and about 3 million individual business households, the region contributed to 60% to the GDP. Not only contribute significantly to the economic development of the country, SMEs also create over a million new jobs every year for the majority of workers are untrained, contributing to poverty reduction, enhanced security society.
 
However, The VINASME also said that this development is mainly developed in quantity, quality deficiencies, structural imbalances (around 70% of trade, services), small size , limited range, low efficiency, weak competitiveness, faces many risks and challenges (3/4 indifferent to integration); disease "steadily Baby" also known as "big can not" is worrying. Expression is nearly 70% of micro firms (even tiny babies). Some medium-sized businesses, around 2%, have difficulties to face situation changes; mostly small-scale and micro (about 98%) should not have  new generation of industrial production, processing, manufacturing and professional services business has a name, associated with big brands regional nature, domain (let alone national, international) …
 
In addition, SMEs still encounter restrictions such as the access rate to loans and the fact that loans are still low, high bad debt ratio. Rate of access and guaranteed very low, the proportion of high risk underwriting. Restructure its debt and reduce interest adjustment is slow.
 

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao emphasis on innovative solutions, develop and improve the efficiency of SMEs in terms of restructuring the economy. We should focus on: building mechanisms and specific policy rules implemented to encourage SMEs provide services and goods to the public sector, for SOEs, corporations, enterprises invested domestic and foreign, investment, trading and manufacturing, agro-processing in the field of agriculture and rural areas and to participate in building local infrastructure; promoting public investment restructuring tied to encourage private investment with the participation of SMEs under the rural development program a new, replicable model of "points" a new type of cooperative success, model pages camp, large sample field, processing and export of agricultural goods and the high quality standards; develop and implement strategies for SME sector development towards harmony between criteria of quantity and quality, focusing on SME structure with medium scale, large-scale adaptation of new models of economic growth oriented on economic development and based on scientific and high-tech, high-quality human resources, high added value and  deeply involved in the global production chain.
In the future, the Central Economic Committee will coordinate with the VINASME to investigate further on the impact of the State's policy is issued directly affect businesses.
